Charlie's Beloved Hearts Guest Book

Return to Charlie's Beloved Hearts Memorial

Simply....remembering you today. It seems unreal it's been (8) years. But I visit today, to honor the way you were so dedicated at visiting so many Rainbowsbridge guest books on special days. Eight years have gone by. Guest books are silent of the poetic imagery of which you wrote, but what you inspired in so many hurt souls after losing their furbabies, well...that inspiration lives on. You once remarked of a John Denver song, "Looking For Space" that it had meaning to you. Somehow, I picture you continuing your journey, eternally inquisitive, eternally pondering, eternally sharing your poet's heart. Your rainbow family thanks you for all your writings, all your musings, your inspirations, and for the time and devotion you put in at the website. I can only imagine your humor, your smiles, your "LOL's" in emails continues to live on as well. I simply nod to you above on this special day. Rest well.

Remembering you today, Tin Man. I remember you sharing a story when you worked at a job in which you had a sprinkling of silvery residue on your skin when you left one day (I believe the company was Silberline), and my recollection is that you said one of your nephews said you had a silvery tint to you... With the connection to the Rainbow at Rainbows bridge, and Somewhere over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz, I began to nickname you "Tin Man..." My prayer for you is that you are eternally surrounded by peace and love, and that somehow you know your Rainbow "family" here will always remember your poet's heart. Rest well, Charlie. Rest well.

Hi Charlie...I'm just stopping by...you would have known just what to email me to make me feel better. In March 2015, a friend of mine, Bobby, took his own life. September 8th, he would have turned 53. I can't help but think of him today, and I know you would have known just what to write to me to encourage me. I called him mom on the phone, to let her know I was thinking of him today, and especially her in her loss. She said it was a hard day; but she's doing okay. I thought of you, as you were always great at RB site in remembering people on special anniversary dates, and so many other special dates. You were always so good at that. For your talents and gifts that you so passionately shared in your writings to so many, I say thank you. May love and light always guide your path. Thanks again for all your encouragement to me, and to so very many others. Rest well with the angels. Rest well.

It has been a while since I visited, but I wanted to stop by and let you know I still remember....Though I was not here on June 21, I wanted to stop by today, so very late on June 24, and let you know you are still remembered. I pray you have found so many answers to your life's questionings, and have made so many beautiful discoveries since you left this world and crossed to the next. May the love and compassion that you so freely shared in your writings in so many of the guest books at RB always surround you and light your path in all your travels... God bless you always. Sleep well, dear Charlie. Sleep well.

Love to you my friend & Caleb until we all meet again..

Some of my memories: the time you said Caleb had been in a field with you walking at night, and a huge swarm of fireflies all took flight at once, catching Caleb's attention and gaze, and he turned, looked back up at you, and you said he was looking back up at you as though asking, "Is it ok to chase them, daddy?" Another memory, the time you said you left Silberline (where you worked) and had some substance on your skin that was silvery and your nephews saw you glistening when you visited with them. From then on, my nickname for you was "Tin Man." Another memory, how hard the loss of Caleb was on you....and how you weren't sure about getting Jasper, but once you did, he quickly melted your heart....I remember it was you who first taught me a little about the Papillion breed....

Charlie, I had to return today to visit with you a bit. This day was such a loss to the RB family, such a loss to your own dear family, and such a loss to precious Jasper. You left everyone so quickly. I am so very sorry that I didn't even think when you said you had been nauseous/queasy a few days prior, that it was perhaps an impending symptom of what was to come. So many times, I had asked myself "if only"....if only I had suggested you go to a doctor. Today I visit, and I cannot help but have some of those memories come back. But I visit for another reason. You have gained your eternal home, you have gained what had eluded you in this world here, so many answers to some of life's most challenging ponderings. Though we lost so much of you here, what you gained, Charlie, what your poet's heart gained, is immeasurable. And that, through the hurt and loss, is what I so picture for you. I pray you continue to gain, continue to grow, and continue to inspire from beyond...

Hi Charlie....I am listening while at work today to a John Denver CD...the song you introduced me to, "LOOKING FOR SPACE" just played, and I could think of nothing but you. Part of the words, "I'm looking for space, and to find out who I am..." I just so picture, you have so many answers to so many questions of life that you would ponder. You continue to inspire from beyond, you know that don't you? So many people remember you, and will never forget your impact on their lives. I guess I just want to say, "Keep Looking for Space" Charlie... keep inquiring, keep searching and keep inspiring from beyond. Meanwhile, I'll continue to smile, listening to the song "Grandmother's Feather Bed" that you thought was so cute...Keep a song in your heart eternally, ok? And see you on the other side, dear Charlie...See you on the other side...

Charlie...I'm not sure why I thought of you this morning while on the RB site, but something made me think of you...I remember how you always wrote at the end of your guestbook signings for new animals to "rest well little one..." and I so hope you don't mind but I had changed the wording on what I write in new furbaby guestbooks a while back, changing it to end it with your tag line of "rest well little one..." Somehow, I guess, I just wanted a touch of you, Charlie, to still somehow remain in guestbooks... I could never come close to the imagry of which you wrote, and the dedication you had at writing in guestbooks, but in this small way, you live on at the RB site... See you someday on the other side, Tin Man.

Hi Charlie, I am just stopping by. It is that time of year, when I am putting my holiday greeting on all the RB guestbooks for all the animals who passed in 2013. I'm only up to letter C so far...I've tried to do this every year since I lost my Dusty in 2007. I think I missed a year or two, but it is something near and dear to my heart, as I get so many wonderful and kind responses. I still think of you and how writing in guestbooks was so very important to you. You were a poet in your heart, as you wrote always with such imagry, such beauty, and such deeply felt emotion. Well, I need to leave now and go back to RB website, but I couldn't help but stop by to say hello. You are missed by many, and will never be forgotten. I doubt you ever thought you could have such an impact upon the world from your little apartment living by yourself; but you surely did. God bless you Charlie, now and forever.
