Memories of Alton Dean

Born in Benton, IL - the son of Alton Ross and Vera (Perry) Lewis. He married Ona Imogene (Walker) on Oct. 9, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas. A World War II Navy veteran and lifetime member of American Legion Post 280 in Benton. He was a member of the Illinois Nurses Association and a registered nurse, working for the Veterans Administration for 30 years. He was also a journeyman machinist. Survived by his wife, Ona Imogene; three sons: Larry, Alan and Ronald; a granddaughter, Nico Baker and two great-granddaughters, Rachael and Brandi.
